Buying a PSP
Ok here's a tip for anyone who's buying a PSP.
Do not ever ever ever go sim lim even if the prices are a heap cheaper. Because trust me, once you pay the money they will start to add this and add that till your bill exceeds your $500 budget. So, go to any retailer execpt sim lim (it doesn't matter to pay a little more seriously) because yours truly here has been scammed. My PSP now flickers on and off as and when it feel likes or wishes. And in case you think why I cant play when it flicks on, well it's none other than because it flicks on for only 2 seconds. It is very very likely for sim lim people to do stuff to your machine before selling it to you becuase they need that small tiny bit of peanuts to sustain their rental charges. Ok right back to buying a PSP. Go to places like comics connection or even sony (much more expensive) which sells VERY reliable PSP which does not sell you cheap stuff or crap as they are a huge branch and they don't care about cheating you a few hundred bucks. Ok so average price of a PSP is around $250 (can be more expensive or cheaper) 1 warning: if below $200 please please be very careful as it may be a scam); if over $280 its considered as very expensive (note there are no accessories included) Ok so what you need besides buying the machine itself. Mostly commonly a casing and a 4Gb memory card (best size as most people go for it) 1 last thing. Ask the person to modify for you. Maybe he will charge about another $20 or so. If that guy doesn't know you can go other retailers or sim lim (a bit risky and I don't recommend it as they can screw up your PSP) Oh and don't be stupid and go sony and tell the salesman, "Hi can you modify my PSP" He will go and get his manager and you are down for a lecture. Right some stuff to take note (adapted from longjian) : - No difference in price despite different colours - ALWAYS get the SLIM PSP as it is much slimer and LIGHTER (no matter what the salesman tell you, or else ask for discount for the older model and he will shut up immediately) - There is nothing such as RAM (the guy may show you the PSP is a bit laggy after modification so you can deduce he scammed you and your PSP is somehow screwed up liao. Right that should be all. I shall share about the horrors of buying a PSP at sim lim in my next post. |
